A good historical tour does not just turn up at the visitor centre. It puts you on the ground at Bannockburn before the school groups, parks the vehicle on the lane that overlooks the actual battlefield at Culloden, and walks you through Holyrood at the time of day Mary, Queen of Scots, would have walked it.
